Your videos & captions

When you generate captions, your video's audio is processed to produce a transcript with word-level timing. Videos are processed to generate captions and are not persisted on our servers— they are not stored, archived, or used to train models. Your finished videos are exported directly to your device's Photos library and stay with you.

Analytics is opt-in

We use privacy-respecting product analytics only if you opt in. It captures anonymous usage events (for example, which features are used) to help us improve the app. It never includes your video, audio, or caption text. You can decline, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings.

No ads, no cross-app tracking

SUBTL does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Accounts are optional

You can use SUBTL without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we store the minimum needed to identify your account (such as a user identifier and, where provided, your email). We do not sync your videos to the cloud.

Data we may process

• Audio extracted from your video, transiently, to generate captions.
• Account identifier and email, only if you sign in.
• Anonymous, opt-in usage analytics.
• Standard, non-identifying diagnostics needed to keep the app running.

Your rights

You can request access to or deletion of any account data by emailing hello@subtl.cc. If you use the app without an account, we hold no personal profile to delete.
